Name: Melvin Odoom AKA MC Melo.

Currently Melvin presents The weekend breakfast show for Kiss with his partner in crime Rickie Haywood-Williams. You may have seen him on BBC1 or CBBC for a show called ‘The Slammer’ or even the BAFTA award winning kids TV programme ‘Dick and Dom In Da Bungalow’.

Melvin’s experience in all aspects of the media are exceptional for his young age. He worked as freelance broadcast assistant for the BBC’s digital radio station 1Xtra. He  is also currently working with Myspace UK for “The Hook Up” plus he is your resident host and DJ for all Ment2Excel events.

Music Style:
Freestyle… it’s all about what the people want. My style is very broad as I’m a music lover, if its good music I’ll play it.  However for most M2E events I tend to play Broken Beat, House, Old Skool, Hip Hop and Soul.

Why did you start Hosting and DJing:
I have always had a passion for music. I started DJing pretty late but most of my friends could play so they taught me a few things which I picked up. As everyone else was the DJ I ending up being the MC or host in the beginning, but now I have the best of both worlds.   

Favourite song of all time:
There is no way I can answer that too many tunes!!

Favourite film:
Boomerang Or City of Gods.

Favourite food:
Jollof Rice, Chicken and Salad with a cold bottle of Super Malt!

Bath in Cambodian goats milk each morning, just because I could damn it!
